Freedom and the Law in Britain – ‘Protest in Britain Today’ (Lecture series)

Convene events are organised for members of the LSE community.

We are delighted to invite you to our Winter Term Lecture Series on “Freedom and the Law in Britain,” sub-branded as a comprehensive course open to all, focusing on civil liberties and human rights in Britain.

Conor Gearty, renowned for his insightful publications such as “Civil Liberties,” “Can Human Rights Survive?,” and more, will delve into topics including the historical struggle for civil liberties, modern policing, human rights law, terrorism, control of protest, and select contemporary issues like Palestine and global warming protests.

This series of events is open to students, academic colleagues from all departments and LSE non-academic staff.
