Law Events
The academy ideally seeks to sustain an intellectual space for debate, discussion, and critique, where individuals are encouraged to continually question and refine their worldviews. At the same time, academics are expected to rigorously defend their scholarly positions, which can sometimes make it difficult to change one’s views, as doing so may be perceived as a sign of intellectual weakness. In this panel, three scholars at the LSE will reflect on their academic trajectories and share personal experiences of how socio-legal research led them to rethink or revise their views on a particular issue.
Speakers: Professor Susanne Baer is Centennial Professor at LSE Law School, Professor of Public Law and Gender Studies at Humboldt University Berlin.
Professor Emily Jackson is Professor of Law at the LSE.
Professor Nicola Lacey is School Professor of Law, Gender and Social Policy at the LSE.
Chair: Dr Nafay Choudhury (LSE)
